Afternoon Tea at Abbeywood Estate
It was one of the hottest days of the summer when most of the members of Kelsall WI got together in the Glasshouse (yes, really!) at Abbeywood, with ceiling fans and electric air conditioners trying vainly to make us feel a little cooler. Abbeywood was one of Dot Berry's favourite places for an outing and we were here not only to enjoy the tasty sandwiches and cakes, but to remember Dot and all she did for Kelsall WI through many years of membership. It was also a chance to get together for a chat in the shade afterwards, and have a look at the rose garden surrounding us. The main garden was very quiet today due to the heat, and it was clear that the weather was taking it's toll on many of the plants and lawns.
We all agreed that the Afternoon Tea was excellent and the lovely staff looked after us very well, bringing jugs of iced water to keep us going throughout the event. A very enjoyable, if very hot, afternoon.

ANNUAL COFFEE MORNING
It was a lovely sunny day for our coffee morning. We had a brilliant team of people who set out the tables and chairs with colourful gingham tablecloths before everyone arrived, and a varied Sales Table together with our Raffle, the proceeds of which were to go to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd which is associated with our past President Jane. We were able to offer everyone some lovely cakes as you would expect of a rural WI, and it took quite some time to go through the Raffle winning tickets near the end. A big thank you to all who came and contributed to our annual coffee morning.
