Kelsall WI MIni Show, Wednesday 6th November 2019

At our  regular AGMs  in  the month November , it is sometimes the case that we have an activity of some sort, after the business , and the voting in of the new committee
This year, for the first time in nearly twenty years, we had a mini show , along the lines of the Cheshire Show, but a lot less serious.The show was the brainchild of Margaret and Pat, who were solely responsible for the organisation of the whole event. As the organisation of the event progressed, they hoped that our members would enter into the spirit of the more relaxed aspect of competitive entry, and they were delighted  with the response of our members.  There was a total of 82 entries! 
Four judges gave up their time to come from different parts of Cheshire to judge our efforts, and a lot of fun was had by us all as we viewed all the entries following the judging.

There were four  categories:

FOOD     Mince pies         
                Fruit Curd
                Marmalade
                Fruit loaf

FLOWERS   Table arrangement
                      Posy in a Teacup
   
CRAFT  Christmas Present
               Tree Decoration

ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY
                 Handmade Christmas Card
                 Seasonal Painting
                 Photograph of Local Scene


And the winners were;

Food                           Dorothy Hunt                    the Joan Williams Cup 

Flowers                       Avril Butler              the Jubilee Cup

Craft                            Heather Leather       the Hilda Vernon Cup

Art and Photography    Margaret Davies   a new glass trophy was awarded                                                                            for this category.

Best in Show (members' vote)          Margaret Davies, for her painting of                                                                    Eastgate Street.


Of course, to remind you, this Mini Show  was held at our AGM, and the  most important information to come out of that part of the meeting is that :

Our new president is Dorothy Hunt.
