Shore Cottage Studio
On Wednesday 8th March eleven members set off for Shore Cottage Studio at Thurstaston on the Wirral. The cottage studio really is set on the shore with wonderful views over the River Dee to the mountains of North Wales. Once inside the studio we were welcomed by Sue, Laura and Kris and split into two groups.
The larger group, working with Laura, tried their hand at glass fusion which they turned into pendants, brooches and pictures.
The smaller group made necklaces with Sue, using cord which they knotted. These were then decorated with beads and finally a clasp was fixed to the ends.
One of the pleasures of visiting the studio is the coffee break and this visit was no exception. We were treated to freshly brewed tea, coffee and a slice of the most delicious lemon cake. The morning was rounded off with a convivial lunch at The Cottage Loaf.
This craft session not only gave us the the opportunity to learn new skills but it gave us the time to get to know each other better - something not always possible at the meetings.
