Mah Jongg at Denman
On the 5th of November, Ro, Ann and Eileen attended a course at Denman College.
It was called "Mah Jongg for Beginners" and was an overnight stay.
Here is Ann's short report.
Ro drove us down to Denman last Thursday morning and we had lunch there before commencing the course. Although it was advertised as a Beginners Course, several of us had a basic knowledge of the game and this turned out to be helpful to the tutor. There were 13 of us, including one husband and everyone got on really well. We konged, punged and chowed through three sessions, interspersed with delicious food and left after lunch on Friday. I had never been to Denman before and enjoyed every minute of it - the wonderful setting, hospitality, room and catering and hope to return sometime in the future.
Ro, Eileen, Trish and I play Mah Jongg quite a lot and perhaps, when we have let all the new knowledge sink in, there might be an opportunity for other interested members to come along and give it a try.
