Mary's Success at the London Marathon
Last Sunday, April the 23rd, found our youngest member, Mary Gasgarth, running in the London Marathon, for the first time.It was Mary's first marathon.......perhaps the first of many(?)......... and to use her own words, "it was a truly amazing experience in every way".
Mary had been following a training programme for many months, and has indeed been running at various distances for nearly twenty years. She was delighted to complete the Marathon in just under four and a half hours....4:28:14, to be precise , and as I write this, she has raised well over four thousand pounds for her charity, Mind.This amount continues to rise.
Mary acknowledges that she could not have done this without the tremendous support of her husband Daniel, and has promised to take him out to dinner!
